Florida is in the building for this week’s Underrated Beat Review with Cache Knock checking in from the Sunshine State with a slapper for those skilled enough to bar it up.  “Set The Pace” is on a little bit of an ambidextrous tip in that it easily could switch from one vibe to another depending on who was taking the reins on it.  For example, Cache has it tagged in the R&B genre on BeatKongs and I can certainly hear that.  But I also hear ridin’ music, that late night smokin’ and pondering type vibe where you are putting together master moves in your cranium.

“Set The Pace” has a bright 80’s synth jabbing over low bass hits that can test the capabilities of the best trunk setup in your city.  The formula gets bolstered by a different synth, this one wavy and pitch bending that comes in and out of the track sometimes with the muffled treatment to add to the switchups.  The result as mentioned is one for the whip when there is nothing left out but the streetlights and you can really get into your own brain.  It’s up to someone now to lay it out on there and let us see what that’s all about.
